The Institute for Washington’s Future is a non-profit 501(c)(3) research and education center dedicated to the renewal of progressive values: community, equity, participation, and a sound environment. The Institute seeks to develop long-term solutions to pertinent issues, recognizing the common values—and working to develop common vision—among diverse organizations.
The Institute strives to increase citizen participation in our democratic institutions, reverse the economic marginalization of low-income people in our society, protect the environment, create and preserve family-wage jobs, and increase our quality of life. The Institute is committed to closing the growing economic, political, and social gaps throughout the state. We foster multi-issue organizing, community development and policy research to bring diverse people together around a common vision. Our goal is to create an economically just, environmentally sustainable and culturally diverse future for Washington State.
